    Importing to Unity

    Recommended Format

GLB is the recommended format for Unity. It preserves materials, colors, and is widely supported.

    Import Steps

    1. 1

      Export from PolyMedium

Download your asset as GLB format

    2. 2

      Import into Unity

Install the glTFast package (or UnityGLTF) via the Package Manager if you haven't, then drag the .glb file into your Assets folder in the Project window. Stock Unity has no built-in GLB importer.

    3. 3

      Configure Import Settings

Select the asset and adjust scale if needed (usually 1.0 works well)

    4. 4

      Add to Scene

Drag the imported prefab into your scene hierarchy

    Material Setup

GLB files carry baked PBR textures (base color, normal, and roughness/metallic) embedded in the file, not vertex colors. glTFast and UnityGLTF extract them on import and build URP/Lit (or Standard) materials automatically. If the mesh looks untextured, re-import with material extraction enabled.

    Troubleshooting

    • • Model too small/large: Adjust scale factor in import settings
    • • Textures missing: Re-import and confirm the embedded textures were extracted
    • • Orientation wrong: Rotate the parent object -90 on X axis
