Turn a photo into a printable STL file

      Photograph the object

      Any ordinary photo works; it is restaged into a clean studio reference automatically, so lighting and background are handled for you. The one real material caveat: matte objects reconstruct better than shiny or transparent ones, because glare and glass carry less true shape information.

      Generate the model

      Upload the photo and an object costs $0.25 (a person or pet is treated as a character, from $0.75). The pipeline removes the background, synthesises the opposite-side view, and reconstructs a full mesh. If the result misses, a $0.25 retry is the cheapest fix; if it fails outright, you are refunded automatically.

      Export STL and slice

      The STL export is free. Load it into Cura, PrusaSlicer, or Bambu Studio, scale it to the size you want, and check the preview for overhangs that need supports. Organic shapes usually print fine; objects with thin protruding parts may want supports or a larger scale.

    Will the print be the same size as the real object?

    No. The model captures shape and proportions, not measured dimensions. Scale it in your slicer: measure one dimension of the real object and scale the model until that axis matches.

    Does it print in color?

    An STL file carries geometry only, so a standard single-filament print is one color. The model itself is fully textured (the GLB export has the baked color maps) so you can use it as a painting reference, or print on a multi-material printer.

    What photos give the best prints?
