Turn a game screenshot into a 3D character

    An ordinary gameplay screenshot is enough. PolyMedium removes the scene and the HUD, restages your character, and reconstructs a 3D model that keeps the game's rendering style instead of correcting it into a photoreal human. Characters run $0.50 to $3.00 depending on quality, and here is the part game developers care about: a humanoid character can come auto-rigged with a skeleton plus walk and run clips, in GLB and FBX, for $0.25 more. A rigged, animated character for 75 cents.

      Take the screenshot

      Mid-game is fine: the scene and HUD are removed automatically. Zoom in so the character fills a good portion of the frame if you can.

      Pick a quality, optionally add the rig

      Budget $0.50, Standard $1.00 (best identity), Hero $3.00 (figurine-grade, rig included). On Budget, tick the Rig toggle for $0.25 to get the skeleton and clips.

      Drop it in your engine

      GLB and, for rigged characters, FBX with walk and run clips. Unity, Unreal, Godot, and Blender all import them natively. Add your game's controller logic and it walks.

    Will it keep my game's art style?

    Yes, deliberately. Stylized characters are reconstructed in their own look; nothing is corrected toward realism.

    Can I animate the result?

    Humanoid characters can be auto-rigged at generation time: a full skeleton with walk and run clips in GLB and FBX, $0.25 on the Budget tier and included at Hero. Bring your own animations too; the rig is standard.

    Does this work for characters from any game?

    Technically yes from any clear screenshot. Whether you may use a given character depends on that game's IP terms; for your own game's characters and original designs there is no issue.
