Turn concept art into 3D models with AI
Updated August 30, 2026 · Published August 29, 2026
Concept art is a natural input for AI 3D reconstruction. PolyMedium reads stylized 2D art and produces a 3D mesh that matches the intent: characters, props, vehicles, creatures. At $0.25 a model for props and drawings, you can push a whole sheet of thumbnails through and see which designs actually hold up in 3D before anyone models a thing by hand.
How it works
- 1
Upload concept art
Any view, any background: the image is restaged into a clean reference automatically before reconstruction.
- 2
We work out what it is
Characters, props, and kids' drawings each get a different pipeline, and PolyMedium detects which one applies; you don't pick. Hand-drawn art is recognised as drawn and keeps its marks instead of being 'corrected' toward photorealism.
- 3
Generate and export
$0.25 for an object or a drawing, $1.00 for a character at standard quality. GLB with baked PBR materials, ready for your engine, free to export. Move a favourite up its ladder, or, if the input was a kid's drawing, spend $0.25 on "Make it real" to see it reimagined as an actual object.
Why PolyMedium fits
- • Works with stylized art, not just photos
- • Painterly and line-art styles both supported

FAQ
Does it work for non-human characters?
Yes. Creatures, vehicles, props, and stylized characters all work.
What style of art works best?
Any style with one clear subject. Painterly and line-art both work, and the background is removed automatically, so composition does not matter.
Will it flatten my style into photorealism?
No. The pipeline is built to preserve the reference's look, and hand-drawn art is detected as such so the marks survive into the model.
